Importance of Biblical Knowledge
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
Children learn their limits through the teaching and correction that is given by their parents. One outstanding quality of a good parent is the teaching--instruction and correction, when necessary, within the Word of God (Genesis 18:19). Every christian must become a student of the Word of God, to grow thereby, to be apt to teach (2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 2:4) concerning the hope that is within (1 Peter 3:15).
A good place to start any study is at the feet of the Master. Is your Bible knowledge where it ought to be? New christians should understand that we are frail and dependant upon God for strength. Paul speaks of those who should be ready for "strong meat" (Hebrews 5:12) as a responsibility for each and every christian. Christians should grow in the kingdom as a babe grows to adulthood in physical life. If christians who were baptized some years ago are continuing to necessitate the sincere milk of the Word, and are not ready for strong meat, then there are some serious questions that need to be answered: is the spiritual child an erring member; is the spiritual child not being fed the Word by those whose charge it is to feed the flock (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2); is the spiritual child not studying the Scriptures and exercising in the Word that is profitable to all? If one must answer 'yes' to any of these questions, then the question is raised to what the spiritual child was converted from or to, and what the spiritual diet is being fed to the christian. Obviously, if the answer is 'yes' to any of these, then the diet needs to be changed so that spiritual malnurishment, and starvation do not choke out the newly added child of God.
The study guides below are an aid to reading the Scriptures. Print the question forms and read the selected book within the month. Not all of the books are complete, yet. This work is in progress and updates are added as completed.

The following are two separate study guides for strengthening Christians in the evidences of the Word concerning the church of Christ. Both of these guides help one in the study of a book written by Leroy Brownlow, Why I Am A Member Of The Church Of Christ?, which is used by many as a study guide for new christians. The authors of these supplements are not known. However, the questions contained therein are to encourage study, thought, and understanding of the proper way to study the Word of God and to defend the faith by which one has obeyed unto the gift of salvation.
