Lk 24.44-45: And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
Many other prophecies have been fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah. And John 20.30-31 tells us, “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book: But these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
God's Plan of Salvation
Hear:
Luke
19.10
tells us Jesus Christ came to "seek and save the lost."
Salvation is found only in his name. "Neither
is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved"
(Acts
4.12).
Jesus said, "...I
am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me"
(John
14.6).
He died for our sins (I
Corinthians 15.3;
Hebrews
2.9).
He was raised from the dead, by which we are justified (Romans
4.25).
He alone is the author and giver of salvation (Hebrews
5.8-9).
He has the authority to speak about salvation and how to obtain it
(Matthew
28.18).
Ignoring men, let the Lord himself speak, telling us what we shall do
to be saved?
Believe:
Everyone must believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. "I
said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye
believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins"
(John
8.24;
Hebrews
11:6).
Repent:
Jesus said all men must repent of sins to be saved. "And
the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men
every where to repent"
(Acts
17.30;
Luke
13.3,5;
Acts
2.38;
Acts
3.19).
Confess:
Jesus said all men must confess him before men. "Whosoever
therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before
my Father which is in heaven"
(Matthew
10.32;
Acts
8.37;
Romans
10.9-10).
Be
Baptized:
Jesus said all men must be baptized (immersed) in water for the
remission of sins. "Repent
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost"
(Acts
2.38;
Mark
16.16;
Acts
22.16;
Romans
6.3-6;
Col 2.12; 1
Peter 3.21).
Faithful
Living for Christ:
"...Be
thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life"
(Revelation
2.10;
Matthew
10.22;
I
Corinthians 15.58).
God's Plan of Restoration...
Peter and John go to Samaria to bless the church there. While there, Simon, a believer sees that the Holy Spirit is given through the laying on of these apostles hands.
Acts
8:22:
22Repent
therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the
thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
James
5:16,19-20
- 16Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be
healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth
much. 19Brethren,
if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20Let
him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his
way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
