“LIVING WATER”
Jesus when going through Samaria stopped at a well for water and met a woman (John 4:7). He was, at this time, wearied from His journey. He was both God and Man (I Timothy 3:16). When she came up, Jesus asked her for a drink and so began the conversation that forever changed the life of this woman. How many times since then, when people have come in contact with Jesus, have their lives been changed? No other person on this earth has so affected humanity. Jesus went for her soul and, through what He revealed to her, was able to change her life. So it is that Jesus seeks to change us all by getting the truth into our hearts by means of the teaching of God’s Word.
She began by addressing the cultural difference between herself, a Samaritan, and Him, a Jew. Through the years people have stumbled at the Christ thinking that He belongs to a certain culture or people. There are those today who anticipate the return of Christ to the earth to establish His kingdom on the earth in the city of Jerusalem. All such teaching points to the idea that the Jews are still God’s chosen people. The Bible shows us no such teaching. It points to the truth that all who obey the truth concerning Jesus are now spiritual Jews (Romans 2:28,29; Galatians 3:26-29).
Some believe that Christ belongs to America.
